One of the enjoyable features of Pettistree as with most villages is the network of footpaths. Pettistree has a good selection of accessible paths which as well as giving you the ability to see the area in more intimate detail, connects you to the paths of the bordering parishes. It is possible and easy to create for yourself a couple of good circular walks, using paths and minor country roads.
A good place to start from is the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, which with the Public House next door creates the typical English village scene. As most people know, East Suffolk has very few hills just gentle undulations making it ideal for good rambles.
In Spring and early Summer Yellow Hammers and Whitethroats are often your companion in the hedgerows with Blackcaps and Willow Warblers singing in copses and plantations. As early summer progresses Swifts, Swallows, and House Martins circle the clear broad East Anglian sky.
There are some fine houses in perfect settings and the pace of life is calm.
Please enjoy it.
